“I got my Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) and within two weeks I had a job.”
After seeing the care provided to her mother, Pauline was inspired to pursue a career in aged care. She found the face-to-face classes essential, saying, “They helped open up conversations, build connections, and gave me the confidence to change careers.”
Despite not being a student since the ’80s, the course made her realise, “I could do it.” Within two weeks of completing her Certificate III, she landed a job in a career she truly loves.
“It’s widened my scope of where I can work, what I can do, it’s really good.”
Julie Brennan, already working in home care, decided to pursue a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) to enhance her skills. She shared, “My motivation was so I could learn more, my education is really important to me.”
Studying the course with great trainers, especially Cindy, who was always responsive, Julie said, “Cindy’s always there… she gets back to you straight away with the correct answer.”
Through the course, Julie discovered that she knew even more than she realised: “I thought I knew a lot, but I learned even more.” The collaborative classroom environment was a highlight, as it allowed her to “bounce ideas off one another” and broaden her horizons by learning from peers.
