Industry Outlook

Much of the employment growth in the Australian services sector has been driven by Health Care and Social Assistance. Community services have the second-largest share (31%) within this industry, with a significant rise in job opportunities over the few years.

The community services system includes the entire disability system, child protection and family services, youth justice, public housing, homelessness and family violence. Community services workers are employed in a variety of areas such as psychology, rehabilitation and social work.

With Australia’s growing and ageing population requiring more care, and the roll-out of the National Disability Insurance Scheme, the employment growth and demand for highly skilled workers in this sector is expected to continue.

What is Recognised Prior Learning?
Collaboration Learning recognises that some students have had previous experience and learning whether that be working in the industry or completion of a previous course of study.

We are happy to discuss Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) with students. Each student requesting RPL will be interviewed and they should provide a portfolio of evidence to support their application and may be assessed on the job. On-the-job assessments can be conducted to assess current skills and knowledge.
What is a Unique Student Identifier (USI)?
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) number is a unique number that is allocated to students studying nationally recognised Vocational Educational Training (VET) in Australia. This is a government initiative that enables you to access all of your training records and results from one location allowing you to provide proof of qualification to any potential employer. USI’s are mandatory for anyone wanting to complete nationally recognised training. If you forgot or lost your USI number please call Student Support 1300 146 699 or visit https://www.usi.gov.au/contact-us/students
What is the Student Assistance Program?
The Student Assistance Program is dedicated to providing new and existing students free and confidential counselling services to help with their mental health and well-being.

As a joint initiative with AccessEAP (which also runs our Student Assistance Program), Collaboration Learning aims to help students address an array of life challenges, ideally before they become distractions that affect home life as well as studies. The service will provide access to a dedicated counseling hotline available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and 3 complimentary face-to-face counseling sessions.

Student Testimonials

Great course, supportive environment!
I completed my Certificate III in Early Childhood Education. They have a fantastic team and I really enjoyed studying with them. My teacher was great with helping me, replying quickly to emails and marking assessments, and very encouraging. I found the coursework to be well laid out and easy to understand and follow.

Thank you for helping me on my journey into Early Childhood Education!

Amazing learning experience, helpful teachers!
“I had an amazing experience in my learning path for my new career and the teachers are amazing and helpful in your studies. I would definitely choose them for more learning experiences if I need to build on my career. I personally had trouble at the start of the course due to not studying in years. In-class teaching worked well for me.”
